I have been on a GD for almost 2 weeks. My numbers are stabilizing but still have to make a few adjustments. I have lost 2 pounds. I'm a little concerned since I am pregnant w/ twins and this tri is important for their weight gain. I am up about 33 pounds total. Has anyone else lost weight?

Notes:
Re: GD diet and loosing weight
I lost 6 pounds in less than five days after starting the diet plan. The following week I was down another 2 lbs. I had only gained 14 pounds prior. I go tomorrow to see how much I lost in these past two weeks, according to my scale at home, I may only be 2 lbs up prior to getting pregnant. I too am overweight, so they actually are happy that I haven't gained a ton of weight. I also figure that if I can continue this diet when LO is born, maybe it'll help me lose the weight that I never could before.
My numbers after meals are fine, I just can't seem to get my fasting under control and I may have to do insulin unless they decide to up the glyberide. I was told by the diabetes educator to not be panicked if I lose weight in the beginning of starting this diet. The midwife reiterated that when I saw her for my followup to the diabetes class. She said if I don't start gaining some of it back after three weeks and if I'm always hungry they would make adjustments to the diet. We shall see tomorrow.
If you are concerned, call your OB.

I was a normal BMI pre-preg and I was diagnosed with GD at 30 weeks. At that point I had only gained 15 lbs, and since starting the GD diet I have not gained any weight at all. My doctor is completely happy with my current weight, but I'm carrying a singleton. You should just give your doctor a call, and see what they think.
My diabetes educator had mentioned that some people have a hard time getting enough calories on the GD diet, so she will work with them to make suggestions. Personally I have been adding in the slim-fast low-carb lifestyle shakes because they are 200 calories and only 5g of carbs.
I have only gained 8 pounds total and being on the GD diet has completely stopped any weight gain. baby is growing fine, so ... I'm not worried.
