My identical twin girls are very healthy and doing great but aren't so identical; they is such a difference in their size. They are 21 months old and the largest weighs 25lbs, wearing 24 mos clothes, while the smallest weighs just 15lbs and wears 12 mos clothes. Anyone else have twins like this, or had twins like this. Did they ever catch up or get at least close in size? Just curious feeling like they might always be so different in size it could affect how people treat them.
Thanks so much!
Re: Twins- extremely diff weights!
that's very interesting. what does your pediatrician say? does the smaller twin have any food allergies that the bigger sister doesn't? i would ask if you're even positive they're identical, but that's a huge difference even for fraternal twins.
frankly, if they're both healthy, i'd see it as a not so terrible thing. i worry about my boys having identity issues and things like that as they get older. i wish they didn't look so much alike.
regardless, your daughters are beautiful!

mine are not ID but were born 2lbs apart and are now 4lbs apart... so i don't see them evening out anytime soon- or ever. With fraternals I suppose it's easier to "understand" as they are no different than any other 2 brothers... with IDs people will probably say stupid things like "no- they can't be ID b/c one is so much smaller", etc... just ignore them.
Being girls I don't see there being a huge issue with them having different sizes --- ie) boys tend to get picked on for being smaller, not girls... so i wouldn't worry about it so much.
I used to try and get Grayson to eat more and catch up - but then i realized that this is just how he is- and i'm OK with it now - i just didn't want him to get picked on for being smaller.
