That my shower also happens to be Super Bowl Sunday!  I had no idea!  The date was decided on months ago, and no one thought to check that.  And the invitations have already been sent out.  So if you have a shower on Feb. 7 like me, you will be sharing it with the Super Bowl!

Most superbowl parties don't start until 4 or 5, so people should be able to attend both a baby shower in the afternoon and a party in the evening.

Like the pp said, if you have it earlier in the day people will come. The game doesn't start until later, so the guests should be able to come to your shower.

IMO, a baby shower is more fun, especially since I can't have any beer while watching the Superbowl!

I am throwing a brunch shower on super bowl sunday.  We're starting at 11am, having brunch foods, mimosas (OJ), and coffee.  We'll be done by 2pm so the guests have some downtime before they head to their super bowl parties.

I am planning a shower for a friend and the first date we looked at was the 7th, until the guys said, "Um...isn't that the Super Bowl?"  So, we planned it for that Saturday.  Hopefully it's a girls-only shower, in which case, it hopefully won't be too affected by the sporting event.

My shower is Super Bowl sunday as well. But it works out well as I have friends and their hubby's traveling a couple of hours, so the boys are going out to a bar for a "daddy shower" and then we are all hanging out at my firends house (where the shower will be) to watch the super bowl together that night.
