How did LO handle LO#2

My DH and I are considering TTC soon which would give us 2 under 2 if we are lucky enough to conceive that quickly.  I have concerns, of course, but was wondering how your LO#1 handled LO#2.  How much jealousy? I know this is a hard question to answer, but, given the choice, would you have your 2 as close together again?

#1 was young enough to not really have a clue. Now the issues are starting with #2 able to fight for my attention.

mine are 17 months apart.  DS really likes having the new baby, and always asks where he is if he can't see him, and is very concerned if he is crying.  Sometimes he will randomly go by and give the baby a kiss.  Sometimes he will also randomly go by and poke the baby in the eye too.   I think he sort of sees the baby as a toy we are all sharing.

Mine are 22 months apart. There are some jealousy issues- mostly when I am BF DD and DS wants me to play with him somewhere else in the house. He has tried to hit DD when he gets really frustrated. But overall he is really good with her. He gives her kisses and "pets" her, if she's in her moses basket he'll tuck her in with a blanket, and he loves to help give her baths. I think at this age it is really a day by day issue. My mom summed it up really well- "He likes her a lot, but is sometimes really annoyed that she is still around."

My kids are 16.5mos apart.  DS1 has done awesome with DS2.  Kisses him a lot and sometimes plays with his toys.  Mostly though he just ignores DS2.  I think they are close enough in age that there really isn't any jealousy at this point.
