DS Bites when EBFed...Help!

I've EBFing DS for 5 1/2 months now, who's started teething and has biting down when I nurse him.  I've noticed he usually does this when he's emptied or mostly emptied one breast and wants to move on to another.  However, he's also been biting when he latches on to eat sometimes.  I've been quickly unlatching him and firmly saying, "No biting...that hurts mommy" when I unlatch him and try the other breast.  At times, he bites down on both sides, so I figured he wasn't hungry and stopped, which does the trick sometimes and others he's hungry, so he fusses/cries, at which time I give him a pumped bottle.

I work full time and want to still continue pumping at work and BFing at home for at least a couple of more months.  Any advice?

Also, do the nipple shields help or is that for something else like inverted nipples, etc?

You are doing the right thing.  Every time my daughter bite I tell her no and unlatch her.  It does seem to stop her for a few days.

i would thump my son on the cheek, softly of course, before he even had teeth when he would gum me. and when he got bigger and a mouthful of teeth, he never bit, and still doesnt. sounds harsh, i know, but it works, and my mother-in-law said she swatted her's on the head! crazy!
