P17 shot question

Hi ladies I just had my 1st P17 shot on Thursday and my butt still hurts!!!!! It hurts to sit, stand, lay down everything! I don't remember it hurting this much with my last pregnancy. Does anyone one else have this problem?? Sleep

Re: P17 shot question

  • I had mine weeks 18-35. In the beginning they definitely hurt. And overall they got better with time, but I definitely had some weeks (even at the end) that hurt more than others. My nurse said that most of her patients complained about that, I don't think there is any rhyme or reason. Good luck!

  • I have the same problem.  It's because the medication is super thick.  I ice the spot for 15 minutes before the injection and it seems to help a ton.

  • I started the injections week 17 and am currently 34 weeks.  Sometimes the injection itself hurts a lot but I am not sore after, sometimes the injection isn't as bad but I am really sore for 3-4 days or so and sometimes the injection hurts and the area is sore.  I haven't been able to figure out the connection.
  • Ok so i get them in my hip/lower back...hmmm

It hurts going in (b/c its sooooo thick) but then after its just hurts if its hit the wrong way.

Been getting them for 10 weeks and they just started itching for about 2-3 days after administering them.

  • sejabernathy - that's funny.  After getting them for about 14 weeks, mine suddenly started itching for a couple of days after the injection.
  • I think I'll try that thanks :)
