I have about 8 different carriers...but plan to use my stretchy wrap (Gypsy Mama) the most when baby is newborn, and then a SSC (soft structured carrier, either my Patapum or AngelPack) the most when he/she is a little bigger.
We also have a couple mei tais and one pouch sling.
just on gathering other baby wearing mama's advice we decided to go with a Moby to start (which sounds like a Gypsy mama mrstice mentioned as it is a stretchy wrap) and something like a BabyHawk after that - we're just trying to find a pattern in the Hawk that DH and I would both wear. We had a BabyBjorn last time but it was not comfortable and DS outgrew it by like 4 months or something ridiculous...
I mostly use soft structured carriers and sometimes Mei Tais (but not as often anymore since DS wants up and down too often to fuss with the straps). And I have one ring sling for the newborn stage.
OK customer service... I had to return my original because they had a issue with some of the straps. It took a while to get the new one. Now that there is no issue I love it...
We love the Ergo carrier -- so much DH and I used to fight about who would carry DS in it when we went out We had the Bjorn -- which is fine up to 4 months...then DS got heavy and it was killing our backs!! The Ergo is wonderful!
Ok, this is going to sound like an incredibly dumb question but, I am interested in buying a sling this time around (2u2) but I'm scared...how does the baby not fall out?
