Which baby store really has the best prices?

I've been comparing Target to BuyBuyBaby to BabiesrUs...It seems that overall, Target and BuyBuyBaby have the best prices...BRU has slightly higher prices, but it has free shipping for big ticket items.

Since most of the items at Target are available online only, and all items would be online purchases at BBB (since there isn't a store in my area), what is the most economical choice for my guests?

  • I completely agree with Walmart.  The problem I ran into is that the nearest Babies R Us is two hours away and the nearest Target is an hour.  We went with Walmart because I know there's one here and in the town where my shower will be held.  Also, not everyone has internet access, so an all online registry just didn't seem plausible in my case.

To give an example of prices, The My Little Lamb swing that's available at Babies R Us at $149.99 is available at WalMart at $112.50.

  • Example - the swing I registered for is the FP Little Lamb swing.  It's about $149 at BRU and Target.  It's $112 at Wal Mart.  Plus it's in stock there as well.  Anything that isn't in stock you can get free site-to-store shipping.  They carry Fisher Price so they had almost everything I had picked from BRU.

LOL - clearly I didn't read your whole reply before I replied again.  I was shocked at the price difference though!!!

  • If you are buying the items yourself, don't forget to check out Amazon.

  • The online items at Target typically came with free shipping for orders over $50 which my guests really appreciated.  (I should mention though that I live on the East Coast and my family was in the Midwest, so most of my gifts got shipped.)

  • Also make sure you check babyage.com and albeebaby.com.  Both get great reviews and have great prices on a lot of things.  My mom has placed a few orders with each and had great service.  Albee Baby almost always offers a 15% off coupon code and I think they are both free shipping.
  • I would go with Target. I had registered at both Target and BRU, but it seemed like most of my friends and family shopped at Target.
  • Walmart & Amazon.com are my fav's!  We also have a reg at BRU but that's because we have several near us so we know people will go there to shop & felt it'd be smart to have a list of things we need from there.

You can also register at amazon. I've found they have really good prices and free shipping on many baby items, so we've registered there too.

It's too bad you don't have a buybuy baby near you, because the advantage of that store is you can use 20% off bed bath and beyond coupons there.
