I've been comparing Target to BuyBuyBaby to BabiesrUs...It seems that overall, Target and BuyBuyBaby have the best prices...BRU has slightly higher prices, but it has free shipping for big ticket items.
Since most of the items at Target are available online only, and all items would be online purchases at BBB (since there isn't a store in my area), what is the most economical choice for my guests?
Re: Which baby store really has the best prices?
I completely agree with Walmart. The problem I ran into is that the nearest Babies R Us is two hours away and the nearest Target is an hour. We went with Walmart because I know there's one here and in the town where my shower will be held. Also, not everyone has internet access, so an all online registry just didn't seem plausible in my case.
To give an example of prices, The My Little Lamb swing that's available at Babies R Us at $149.99 is available at WalMart at $112.50.
LOL - clearly I didn't read your whole reply before I replied again. I was shocked at the price difference though!!!

my currently-reading shelf:
The online items at Target typically came with free shipping for orders over $50 which my guests really appreciated. (I should mention though that I live on the East Coast and my family was in the Midwest, so most of my gifts got shipped.)
You can also register at amazon. I've found they have really good prices and free shipping on many baby items, so we've registered there too.
It's too bad you don't have a buybuy baby near you, because the advantage of that store is you can use 20% off bed bath and beyond coupons there.
