Adoption

Adoption-where to begin

We live in AL and are currently in the process of trying to get my nephew on a foster to adopt basis (long story)  everything is pretty much set, just waiting on red tape. :)  We would like to explore options to adopt more children because we know it can take quite a long time. My nephew is biracial and both my husband and I are white. We would like to adopt a baby of another race to have a diverse family and because we have heard that these are the least likely to be adopted.  Does anyone have any info of where we can start the process?

TIA

Re: Adoption-where to begin

  • I have a bunch of adoption related links (websites and books) in my blog - link is in my siggy.
2 years TTC with 5 losses, 1 year recovering, 6 months applying for adoption approval, and almost a year waiting for a placement. Then, a miracle BFP at age 36!

  • I'm in AL...if you're interested in a private domestic adoption, I can put you in touch with our attorney.
