3rd Trimester

Losing my plug too early?

I lost some of my plug earlier. I KNOW it doesn't mean I am going into labor, but everything I have read says you should not start losing it until 36 and beyond, and I am not (see ticker). What do you ladies think? I have a NST Monday morning. I will ask the nurses there too.

Re: Losing my plug too early?

  • I havent really read anything about how early you can start to lose it.  I do know that it will regenerate.

  • All I've read says that you can lose your plug "weeks" before going into labor ... sorry ... I haven't seen anything specific
  • I wouldn't worry about it.  It can regenerate.  I lost it with both the girls at 32 weeks almost exactly.  DD#1 was induced (IUGR) at 37w3d.  DD#2 came on her own at 36w2d.  FWIW - I might have lost bits or not at all this time around, and I was on bedrest for PTL for three weeks from 32 to 35 weeks this time around.  Either way, losing my MP didn't mean anything in terms of when I went into labor.
