We all know how hard bedrest is and we wish everyone a healthy pregnancy!!!! Anyone is welcome to join, and anyone can start this daily thread. Just copy and paste this paragraph and info lines below if you get here and the thread has yet to start for that day!

Name - Heather

Due Date - 3/07

Date Placed on Bedrest - Hospitalized 12/18-12/20 (28 weeks); released on bedrest on 12/20

Type - Modified Bed Rest

Why - PTL

Question of the Day - What is one positive thing you've found about bedrest (other than keeping LO safe and inside you for a bit longer)?

Answer- I am using this time to do lots of "projects" that I never felt like I had the time to do -- go thorugh personal papers and organize my files, clean out my scary email inbox, etc.  I did get sucked into a marathon of Milliionare Matchmaker yesterday, but otherwise, I am trying to be productive with the time while I keep LO safe inside.

Updates- I got my ob's okay to do the tour today of the maternity unit/labor and delivery, from a wheelchair.  I've seen L&D, of course, but just the room I had when I was there.  And it means I get to leave the house!  Very exciting.  Other than that, not much.

I hope everyone has a good day today. :)

  • Name - Jennifer

    Due Date - 4/16

Date Placed on Bedrest - 12/31; hospitalized overnight 12/30

Type - Strict Bed Rest at home

    Why - hypertension; pre-eclampsia risk

Question of the Day - What is one positive thing you've found about bedrest (other than keeping LO safe and inside you for a bit longer)?

Answer- I am using this time to research pediatricians and read baby books that I never seemed to have the time to read.  I just got "YOU:  Having a Baby" by Dr. Oz.  It's written with much more humor than most "expecting" books and hasn't been quite as scary so far!

Updates- No updates really.  I see my OB again on Monday and the perinatologist on Tuesday.  So, maybe I'll have news then.

    Have a great day everyone!

Date Placed on Bedrest - on and off throughout pg, officially 1/4

    Type - strict hospital bedrest

    Why - IUGR

Question of the Day - What is one positive thing you've found about bedrest (other than keeping LO safe and inside you for a bit longer)?

Answer- I am getting to watch shows Ive never had time to watch. Im watching Lost on Netflix on-demand Ive always heard it was good but I knew if I watched it I wanted to start from the beginning and since there are so many seasons I never had time to sit and watch that many episodes--now that I have all the time in the world I am getting to watch and its addicting!

Updates- I had my group b strep test done this afternoon--it is weird to think that I could have LO sooner rather than later and with each test and precaution they take (gbs test, steriod shots, etc.) it is making me think that they are expecting LO sooner rather than later--Im supposed to have a consult w/ NICU drs/pediatricians on monday so that should be interesting

I hope everyone is having a good weekend and getting to spend some quality time w/ their SO!

  • Name - Michelle/miaomi

    Due Date - 4/20

Date Placed on Bedrest - at 14 weeks

    Type - Modified Bed Rest

Why - Herniated disks in back

Question of the Day - What is one positive thing you've found about bedrest (other than keeping LO safe and inside you for a bit longer)?

Answer- It's taught me to give up some control and be more patient.  The little things don't bug me nearly as much any more.  I have a different perspective on things and a much more chill attitude.  So I'm happy for that, since I think being flexible is an important asset while parenting.

Updates: Well, for those of you that were jealous that I was going to the movies last night...I didn't get to go, so no more feeling green!  The movie we were going to see wasn't playing anymore.  And my friend (not understanding bedrest) was like oh, well, we'll wait for it to come out on DVD.  Bummer!  It was for the best though, because I was starting to feel crampy again and am feeling very sick today.  Some of the worst acid reflux I've had yet.  Which means I can't eat and drink without throwing up, which means the cramping/contractions start.  Fun stuff!  But I'm confident LO is staying put.

Take care ladies and have a good weekend!

Question of the Day - What is one positive thing you've found about bedrest (other than keeping LO safe and inside you for a bit longer)?

Answer- It is helping me to be less controlling.  Or, as my OB put it "no more Type A."  I would say I still have a long way to go!  I am also hoping to start reading some baby/parenting books but don't even know where to start.

Update- Nothing new.  I am eagerly awaiting the return of my TV shows.

Heather-- i can't believe I missed a Millionaire Matchmaker marathon!!!  That show is hysterical, I can't wait for the next season to start.

Question of the Day - What is one positive thing you've found about bedrest (other than keeping LO safe and inside you for a bit longer)?

Answer- I need to take some time out for myself and stop pushing to be super woman.  I'm trying to learn not to micro manage my husband or my work life.  Take the help that others offer - they are offering because they really do want to help.
