hello,
I am trying to choose between Fairview Southdale and Methodist to give birth to my baby. Where are you giving birth? Do you have any advice? Also did you choose your OB/GYN through recommandations?? Help! Just a little overwhelmed....Thanks!!
Re: What hospital will you be giving birth at?
If you could go off recommendations for finding your OB that's always beneficial. However, I didn't but am happy with who I chose. I would start with finding an OB you like and then see where they deliver. They will only have privelages to deliver at certain hospitals. Then go from there on getting recommendations for hospitals. You can tour the hospital as well so you can get a feel for it. But really it can be luck by the nurse you get the night you deliver.
My OB delivered at three different hospitals but since I live in Woodbury I chose to deliver at HealthEast Woodwinds. I had heard great things about it and had a wonderful experience. I will be delivering there again this time around.

Southdale as that is where my OB delivers. I found my OB thru my family dr. I go to OBGYN West - they have a location in Minnetonka near Ridgedale. I love them - they are really great.
Good luck!

I found it easiest to start with an OB then narrow down the hospital based on where they deliver. I'm going to OGI (Obstetrics, Gynecology and Infertility). I usually go to the Maple Grove office, but they also have another office in Edina. I LOVE this office, and all of the dr.s I've seen have been absolutely fantastic. I plan on delivering at the new Maple Grove Hospital if I go into labor after 35 weeks, and Abbot NW if I go into labor before 35 weeks since they are connected to Children's Hospital.

I am going with Woodwinds in Woodbury. I live nearest to Fairview Southdale, but decided to go with a midwife and a hospital that doesn't have such a high c-section rate.
