E is down to 2-3 wakings per night, but even that is killing me. DH felt sick the other night and went to bed at 7pm and got to sleep until morning, and I was irrationally jealous and bitter about it. When I was sick, my a$$ was still up 5-6 times with the teething baby every night! I love being a mom, but a week of being the dad instead might be a lovely vacation.
Sorry. My DS was (is) a horrible sleeper. At 9 months, I CIOed him, now he sleeps for 4 hours, from 1 to 5am, and that is a dramatic improvement. He was getting up every 2 hours and I was sick all the time and cranky with DD.
this is how C was and it has taken many months to change. he was all over the place especially at night. the last week he has slept thru the night (thank god) and finally has slept past 430. He will be 11 months old this week so it's a long time coming. I hope that something changes for you soon.
I am SO afraid I'm going to have another horrific sleeper on my hands once this baby is born. Terrified. DS has been a horrible napper since forever and he didn't STTN regularly until he was 15 months old.
I don't have any words of wisdom. We never did CIO. We just dealt with the wakings.
Sleep deprivation sucks the big one.

I am so happy to find this post today. Misery loves company, ya know? My DS is 6.5 months and wakes every 2 hours. For 2 weeks we tried CIO so he'd go at least 3 hours. We made very little to no progress. Then he started getting his first tooth and it went way downhill. The past week I have been up nursing him every 2 hours again. I am SO tired I feel like crying. It makes me question whether I really want to have a 3rd child who could possibly sleep worse. My husband is convinced that a 3rd is a terrible idea, especially when I tell him Will's sleeping habits are not out of the ordinary.
Re: I'd give my left arm for this baby to sleep!!
Let us join hands and pray.

Hang in there, woman.
