I saw you mentioned backing out of your VBAC attempt and being glad you did. Do you mind sharing the details w/me?
I'm on the fence. I didn't have a bad c-section experience. It wasn't puppies and rainbows, but it wasn't hell either. I feel inclined to try for the VBAC because I feel as though that is the more "natural" way to give birth, but at the end of the day I just want my baby out healthy.
Re: **JAR** s/o VBAC
Sorry if I mistyped I was glad I did not do VBAC. I was gung-ho for it, prepared, worked with a Doula. With #1 I did Bradley and planned a waterbirth. I had a 96 hour failed induction then a c-section, total 180.
I went in and did the c-section for #2. In the recovery room the OB came in to talk to me and he looked really upset. He said when he opened me my uterus was so tissue paper thin they could see her hair through it. Had I VBACed he said, "It would not have turned out well." I did not ask what he really meant by that. The shocking thing was he said I was the 5th girl that week he saw in the same situation and they never know before they go in. He was very encouraging about me trying VBAC before hand. He said had I had contractions I probably would have ruptured at some point.
I hope this does not scare you. Just another perspective.
I had both girls at INOVA FFX with Dr. Chen.
