Eucerin vs Aquaphor

Our pediatrician recommended using either Eucerin or Aquaphor for our LO's dry skin.  For those of you who have used either, do you prefer one over the other?  TIA!

Re: Eucerin vs Aquaphor

  • Eucerin is more "lotion-y" Aquaphor is glorified vaseline. I prefer eucerin

  • I also prefer Eucerin.  Aquaphor is too greasy.

THIS! When DD was just out of the hospital she had cracked dry skin, Dr said it was probably from the waxy coating being wiped away to quickly after birth. It looked like little paper cuts on her arms and legs. The ped suggested we get Aveeno and in less than a week her cuts were 100% healed and skin was healthy. I have used it every day since!

I do use Aquaphor on her diaper area... it really is glorified Vaseline but protects her skin from getting diaper rash.

  • Eucerin is the name brand and they make Aquaphor.  However I think I know what you meant because they make a lotion too.  Preference depends on how you will use it.  We use Aquaphor in place of Vaseline.  It is petroleum based but less greasy and sticky than Vaseline.  However, we also keep baby lotion around.
