Hi Ladies,

I am waiting to go down for my u/s (im on hospital bedrest) to recheck my amniotic fluids and umbilical flow--this morning the peri mentioned that my fluid levels were high at my last u/s--has anyone had any experience w/ this? Thanks for any input!

Re: experience w/ too high amniotic fluid levels?

  • Have they told you they're to high? My levels are always higher, between 15-17, and they've never said anything discouraging! Just that my LO has a lot of room to move around. I've only heard good things about amniotic fluid levels being higher.  How high are your levels?

  • My fluid is really high.  They say it's due to the GD.  Right now my fluid is at 38.5 and they may take me early because of it.  It's incredibly uncomfortable!

  • I was just informed on Monday (after my water broke at 29 weeks) that I always had "a lot of amniotic fluid" when they saw me for ultrasounds.  My OB told me that the more fluid that you have, the more you are at risk for PTL. I am currently on strict bed rest in the hospital so that they can monitor me and my little girl b/c I am more at risk for infection due to my water being broken.
  • I had that and SUA. My son was born at 34 weeks and 3 days. If it makes you feel better he had a perfectly formed head because of all the fluid. But seriously it only got really bad after 32weeks when the baby's growth picked up. I was on a lot of medications to stop labor but in the end nothing worked my uterus gave up and my body was too tired. My son is at home now after a week and a half in nicu and he is perfect no issues to report.
