Name - Lesley
Due Date - 2/10
Date Placed on Bedrest - restricted activity/pelvic rest at 18 weeks; modified 12/10; hospitalized 12/16
Type - Hospitalized Modified bed rest
Why - Vasa previa/(possible) pregnancy induced hypertension
Question of the Day - Ask a question that the next responding mama in the thread will answer.
Answer
- How did you meet your SO/DH? Where did you go/what did you do on your first date?
Updates - little bit of pink discharge again this morning but so far only once; baby's kicking along happily so everything seems well. Only 6 more days! I'm so freaked out though that something will happen before then. *crosses fingers (and legs...lol)*
**Chelsea, I hope you get to go home today or at least get out of the room! I don't get out of mine very often but it's very exciting when I do.
I hope those ankles are back to normal today, Nic! Congratulations on having one week left of bed rest!
We all have our bad days, Michelle. *hugs* I hope that you're feeling better and that the medication will help alleviate some of the sadness/irritability.
Lauren, I hope that your little guy responds well to the bed rest and that it starts to get easier on you. It is harder some days more than others. The NICU doctor told me the same thing as well...everyday inside is equal to 3 less days in the NICU. It will all be worth it!
You're so very close to your due date, Cora! That's so amazing! You've done an awesome job!**

Answer from Lesley: DH and I met at work....we were supposed to be drinking buddies. We went to a bar for our 1st date (yah, I know classy....). He made up for it later after we soon realized that we wanted to be together.....he cooked me gourmet meals (amazing cook!), took me to a baseball game, and we went to a wedding.
Question of the Day: What was the day like when you got your BFP?
Updates: Actually have been feeling VERY good the last few days. Contractions are few and far between (yah!) I have been nesting like CRAZY, which proves to be a little difficult when you aren't supposed to do much of anything. However, I have taken advantage of this and started organizing like crazy (DH is loving it!) I have a cervical check and growth u/s tomorrow morning.
Lesley.....Can I just say that you are awesome! You keep up with everyone's progress so well! GL on your last 6 days!
Name - Heather
Due Date - 3/08
Date Placed on Bedrest - hospitalized 12/18-20; placed on home bed rest 12/20 (week 28)
Type - Modified bed rest
Why - contractions at 28 weeks
Question of the Day - Ask a question that the next responding mama in the thread will answer.
Answer - What was the day like when you got your BFP?
It was the 4th of July, actually. I wasn't sure I was pg, but had bought a pregnancy test the day before and informed DH that I was going to take it in the morning. I woke up at 6 am and it was all I could think about. I went and took it, and it showed positive in like 20 seconds. I felt my whole life change. I went and woke up DH but I couldn't speak, so I just looked at him and smiled, and he knew. It was hot (in Texas in July) and a perfect day.
Question of the day: What is the best new website you've found since being on bed rest?
Updates - I'm new to this board -- but this is week 4 of bedrest for me. I saw my doc today; she checked my cervix and it's unchanged from week 28 when I was hospitalized w/ contractions. I am having BH sporadically and baby is moving well. She extended bed rest for another week (which is how we've been doing it) and said we'll take it from there. I'm currently trying to get approval to work part time from home. We shall see.
Name - Katie
Due Date - 4/27
Date Placed on Bedrest - 12/18
Type - Home bedrest
Why - Short cervix, previous pPROM with my daughter at 24 weeks.
Question of the Day - Ask a question that the next responding mama in the thread will answer.
Answer - Some of the websites I check daily are kids.woot.com, greenbabybargains.com, and babycheapskate.com. I found those when I was on bedrest with my daughter.
What has been the best and worst thing about being on bedrest?
Updates - I had an ultrasound today and my cervix measured 3.3cm!!!! I was 2cm last week. Apparently the bedrest is really working. My OB was thrilled today, I've honestly never seen him so excited. Since I'm not dilated at all, my OB told me I can go float in the pool for a while. I've been dying to go swimming.
Today is marks the day in my daughter's pregnancy when my water broke. Every day after today is a huge deal to me.

Date Placed on Bedrest - 1/4 - periodically before this date
Type - Home modified bedrest
Why - PTL risk, shortened cervix
Question of the Day - Ask a question that the next responding mama in the thread will answer.
What has been the best and worst thing about being on bedrest?
It's pretty boring. I want to do something small activities that last 10 minutes such as sort laundry while sitting down but DH fusses. A good thing is that I get to relax and I don't have to go to work!
What is your favorite activity to make the day go by?
Updates - Yay! I did get to go home yesterday! I am on precardia every 4 hours and I haven't felt any pain aside from the baby sticking her feet in my ribcage :-).
Name - Jennifer
Due Date - 4/16
Date Placed on Bedrest - 12/31; hospitalized overnight 12/30
Type - Home strict bedrest
Why - hypertension; pre-eclampsia risk
Question of the Day - Ask a question that the next responding mama in the thread will answer.
What is your favorite activity to make the day go by?
I haven't been on bed rest long enough to have a "favorite" activity yet. I watch t.v., but I'm sure that is going to get OLD pretty quickly. The other thing I do is worry about how I wasn't prepared to be off work yet and I worry my students are going to suffer from my being gone. I also worry about the financial ramifications of being off work for so long. Plus, obviously, I'm worried about LO and my own health. So I guess "worrying" is my favorite activity right now, which isn't the best thing for my high blood pressure. LOL! I need to learn to knit or learn a craft or something!!
What is your favorite day time t.v. show?
Updates - My doctor's appointment went pretty well on Tuesday. I don't have pre-eclampsia and my protein levels have dropped a little from last week, which was good news. My blood pressure for the most part had been pretty good except for a few spikes. However, the past two days, my blood pressure has been a little higher even with the medication than it I think it should be. So, we'll see what my OB says about it at my Monday appointment......Name - Cora
Due Date - 1/23
Date Placed on Bedrest - 11/21 31w
Type - Modified Bedrest/ Restricted Activity
Why - PTL
Question of the Day - Ask a question that the next responding mama in the thread will answer.
Question: What is one thing that you feel strongly about doing or not doing once your LO arrives?
Question from PP:What is your favorite activity to make the day go by?
Since I got the ok from my OB/Gyn it's cleaning here and there! I'm still having to take it easy per DH's request. He graduated 3 days before I'm due, and wants me to hold out until then if possible. My baby shower is this weekend though so it's rather hard to take it easy when all I want to do is clean and organize!
**Lesley you're such a sweetie, I hope your DH/SO knows how awesome you are! **
Make a pregnancy ticker
Chelsea - Thanks for the pep talk! I'm a worrier by nature. I hate unknowns and things I can't control. I'm know that things will be fine, but I have to somehow figure out how to calm down and stop worrying about things I can't control. With all this extra time I have to "think" now, it's harder to "just keep myself busy"
Name - Lauren
Due Date - 3/23
Date Placed on Bedrest - officially 1/4 but on and off throughout my pregnancy
Type - strict hospital bedrest-only allowed to get up to go to the bathroom
Why - IUGR
Question of the Day - Ask a question that the next responding mama in the thread will answer.
Question: What is the thing you are most excited to do once you are no longer on bedrest?
Question from PP:What is one thing that you feel strongly about doing or not doing once your LO arrives?
I feel really strongly about being able to breastfeed--I am concerned that I wont be able to or that I wont have the patience to pump in the beginning (I pretty much know that LO will be a preemie so I will probably have to pump and bottle feed in the beginning) I really feel strongly about it so I am hoping that will override the inconvience of pumping THEN feeding
Update: Things are going okay today--I am still having my good 20mins a day of crying and being frustrated that I cant do anything but lay here--but my DH spent the night for the 1st time last night so that was nice--im still waiting on any of my family to come and visit (they only live 15-20mins away) my mom & dad call daily but have yet to come visit me while my MIL and SIL's come everyday---grr frustration but I appreciate the visitors I do get

Type - Modified bed rest at home
Why - contractions/PTL
Question of the Day - Ask a question that the next responding mama in the thread will answer.
Question from PP: What is the thing you are most excited to do once you are no longer on bedrest?
Answer - Just to function like a normal human being! I can't wait to clean the house and go crazy organizing things the way I want them organized. I've been better since being on bedrest with letting DH do things, but there are some things I feel I need to do.
Question for the next poster: Do you have any crazy TTC stories, such as LO was concieved after a certain event or somewhere you least expected?
Updates - Nothing to report, the ankles are looking mostly normal today. But, now even with the terbutaline I've been having stronger cramps today. Which means I've been glued to the couch to try and get them to stop. My next appointment is Monday, I will get my strep test and find out if I have dilated any more since my last internal.

Question from PP: Do you have any crazy TTC stories, such as LO was concieved after a certain event or somewhere you least expected?
Answer: Well, I found I out was prego 5 days before my wedding and 6 days before I left on a 2wk honeymoon to Mexico. Needless to say, it was a total shock! I had been told that I'd have difficulties getting pregnant and DH and I were being very careful....I wanted to fit into my wedding dress ya know! My Mom kept telling me she thought I was pregnant. I was getting mad at her for nagging me about it. I'd been getting my period and besides, I wasn't supposed to be getting pregnant and DH had been using protection! Finally, I couldn't take her daily prego comments and took a test so she'd shut up. Imagine our shock when it was positive! We took another then reality set in. I admit, I didn't react well. I don't like change. I cried that I couldn't be pregnant because I had to get married then go on my honeymoon. This lasted for a bit, then I got excited as I realized the great blessing I'd been given. I'd been so scared that I wouldn't be able to give DH a baby without much heartache, trying and cost. And here I was! It's been so amazing since!
Question for next poster: What are your plans for after you have LO? Will you have any family staying or will you be limiting visitors?
Updates: Had a scary night last night. I was having BH during the day and didn't think anything of it. As I lay down in bed I started having regular pains across my stomach for about 1 1/2 hours. Some were pretty bad, but I didn't know what was really going on. I waited it out then went to sleep. After talking with my doula and a mid-wife today, I realize that I was most likely dehydrated and may have been having BH and not realizing it. I've been told next time to head strait to the hospital. Yuck! So, Here's to hoping that Olivia's not ready to come out yet and stays put!
Lauren--families can suck. I'm sorry about yours. If I didn't live so damn far away, I'd come and visit! Keep your head up and try not to let them get you down.
Lesley--thanks for the hug! Keep your knees together as tight as you can! That baby needs to chill for just a few more days! You are so close and I'll keep you in my T&P's! I'm very excited for you.
