on bedrest..little long..need some advice!

so i went to the doctor yesterday for my 37 week growth u/s my little man weighs 5lbs 14 oz and is addddddooorable got such a cute 3d pic, however, then i go in to see my doctor and my bpis 140/100. i lay down they recheck 120/80. Doctor comes in does my visit my only complaints hip pain and some headaches. So he tells me to lay down again and to give my urine sample when i can. i lay down for about 10 mins go give my sample and the nurse comes back and says there is protien in my urine and now my bp is 120/100. She walks out come back in with a huge bucket and says 24 hr urine and bedrest! my mom was with me and said my face dropped! It did i heard nothing else after that point! anyways i go tomorrow to bring the urine and have my pre-e blood work drawn. My question is....What are the outcomes of this? Will i be on bedrest until week 40 if its not pre-e, or if it is pre-e will they just induce me right away? i i didnt ask any of these questions i was in too much shock! any insight mama's im super scared! and ive been checking my own bp at home and when i even sit up never mind stand its 140/100 andi have a headache, when i lay down its 120/80.

  • You're so close to full term that they may decide to induce.  Every doctor is different though.

  • My guess would be they would just induce.  I was told at every appointment that as soon as my cervix was open just a bit they would induce.  I ended up going into labor on my own at 37 weeks.

It sounds like either PIH or pre-e to me unfortunately.  Stay on your left side as much as possible.  One of the best things the high risk doctor and nuerologist said to me was that the headache is a sign that your brain isn't tollerating the BP.  That kept me in bed for 8 weeks.

    Good luck,

  • As far as I know, at 37 weeks they will probably just induce you as long as your babys lungs look good...but like pp said, every dr is different.
