Ok, so I'm not trying to jump the gun here, but I'm pretty sure I've been contracting every 5-6 minutes, anywhere from 40 - 60 seconds since around 6pm. I've been peeing more and am pretty sure from the last few visits to the bathroom that I've lost my mucus plug.
Since I've never had contractions before, I will describe them, and you guys tell me if this is accurate. If I'm sitting on the couch, I will feel fine, and every five minutes or so I will feel like I'm having a pretty bad period cramp with a little bit of back pain thrown in. From the outside, I don't feel like my uterus is super tight or anything.
So, tell me, if I'm having these symptoms, IYHO, do you think I'm probably having this baby in at least the next couple of days? Or have you or anyone you know had false labor contractions, lost their mucus plug, but still not given birth for weeks to come?
Re: Labor Signs?
You know you need sleep when you read the title as, "Lobster Signs," not "Labor Signs."
I am of no help. My water broke, and 13 hours later, I still wasn't having spontaneous contrax. They induced me with Pit at about 20 hours post popage, and those Pitocin contrax hurt like a MOTHEREFFER.

I am effing sccuuurrrred of pitocin. Hoping I won't need it.
And I am very curious where, from your subconscious, "lobster" appeared.

You should never ponder the inner workings of my brain. It might scare that baby right out of you.
As far as Pitocin goes, I know more people that didn't have that much of a problem, the had. I think my issue was that my body wasn't really ready for labor yet, and it was a fluke that caused my water to break. I never went into spontaneous laber, and my body kept getting used to the Pitocin. They had to up my dosage like 4 times, because my body would get used to it and the contrax would stop.
I re-read your post, and if your contrax (and yes those sound like real contrax, not BH) are 5 minutes apart, you could be having her tonight. So exciting. Just don't get your hopes up quite yet. Labor can last for days. I hope she comes soon though. I can't wait to see her in her SS outfit!!

I'm packing my bags and bumping right now! And running a load of dishes, and picking up around the house...
Go take a bath or shower, I was so glad I had shaved/washed my hair since I ended up laboring for a day then having a c/s.
Keep us posted!!
And your nesting too!
Someone told me that "you'd know it" when you have contractions so I assumed I wasn't and when my water broke and I was in triage they hooked me up to the monitors and I was having contractions. Get ready to be a mommy, keep us posted how your night goes!
I've had the menstrual type cramps since my PTL started and the doc seems to think they are real enough. Hopefully that's what you're feeling!! And I agree with pp's, take a nice shower, shave, wash your hair, eat something!
Good luck, I hope this is it for you!
It sounds like you're in early labor but I think everyone goes through it differently. I lost my mucas plug 5 days prior to giving birth and I was in labor for a total of 33 hours from the start of my first contraction to delivery. I don't want to scare you but when you're getting a lot closer to delivery, you will not be able to do anything but scream and feel like pushing. It helped me tremendously when I took a nice warm bath. My water broke on its own at home and it still took me 4 hours to deliver.
Try to sleep if you can, even in the bath tub, so that you can gain enough energy to go through the delivery process. The longer you wait at home the better your chances are to prevent intervention.
Sounds like you're going to be a mommy soon!
