I took Audrey to the pedi eye dr. today for a follow-up on her eyes. The dr was checking to see if her left eye was going crossed or lazy. No signs of laziness, which is good. Her vision in her right eye is 20/20 and her left eye is 20/25. She needs to go back in 6 months again to check that left eye again.
I'm curious, how it came to that your DS needed glasses, if you don't mind telling me. I got the impression from the dr, that she's basically thinking that she will need glasses soon.
Re: MelandJeff - question for you
At Ians 2 year check up, his pedi noticed that one of his eyes was looking more "in" than the other. So, she recommended a pediatric optometrist. Neither MH nor I had ever noticed it before.
Sure enough, he is extremely far sighted and that is how babies/children "cope" is by basically turning off one of their eyes.
I forget what it is called, but He should hopefully outgrow the lazy eye, and as far as the vision goes, who knows if that will improve or not.
DD just went to her 4 year old appointment and her pedi is sending her because he asked if we (parents) wear glasses. We do so he asked that we take her in, I've been trying to see if she turns an eye in but I don't notice it. Pedi seemed to see this.
