Did you know that there are two main cookie bakers in the US? While they sell pretty much the main staples, although sometimes by different names (thin mints, for example) they sell "unique" cookies as well?
For instance, one baker does lemonades which are shortbread cookies with lemon frosting on one side (kind of like the thanks-a-lots), the other baker does lemon sandwhich cookies, two shortbreads with a dollop of lemon icing between them. (I'm drawing a blank on what they are called now..damn).
Last I heard they were trying to get them on the same page with names and varieties, but it's been over a year since I've been involved directly with the inner workings of a GS office. :laughs:
Re: A little bit of GS cookie trivia
When I sold them, there were only about 6 options, I think.
Yep. Samoas = Something DeLights
and Tagalongs = Peanut Butter Patties.
I guess it depends where you are.
I personally am a Somoa/Thin Mint/Tagalong girl.
Caramel Delights = Samoas.
We never had the fancy names like Samoas or Tagalongs. They were called Peanut butter patties, or shortbreads, or peanut butter sandwiches.
You're my kind of girl! These are all my favorites too, with the Samoas being at the top of the list.
