Do you gals have any experience of giving baths to a baby who has a cast? (I hope not, but we're in this situation, and I'm trying to find a better way other than just putting a plastic bag over the cast and tying it with an elastic band. Let me know if you have other/better ideas. Thanks so much!
Re: Baths for LOs with a cast
When I had a knee brace that couldn't come off my physical therapist pointed me to a website that carries rubber "boots" or "sleeves" that go over casts and fit tight at the top so you can just bathe as normal.
When Dylan had a temporary cast on his leg for a few weeks we borrowed one just like it from a friend whose son had a full leg cast for a while so I know they make them in pediatric sizes.
They make something specifically for this problem. If I had more time I'd go google for you but I'm strapped right now.
But... it's worth researching! (and paying for expedited shipping)
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
DS fractured his elbow almost a year ago. He got a waterproof cast though, so we didn't have to worry about it. It was awesome, so I'm disappointed that they weren't able to give you one of those.
Before he got the waterproof one, he had a temporary cast that we couldn't get wet, though. He just took 2 bags (I think they were Target or Wal-Mart bags), put them over the cast and taped over the bag around his arm. It was a pain, but it worked fairly well.
