Fever of 101 = too high for teething?

DS2 acts like his mouth hurts, but 101 seems too high to be teething to me.

Re: Fever of 101 = too high for teething?

  • It does seem too high for teething. My youngest had something like this a few weeks ago. She was drooling like crazy but had a fever of 101-103 for three days. A few days later she broke out in a rash-probably Roseola or another virus.

I hope your son feels better soon.

  • I was told anything above 100.4 is too high for teething.

    could be ears

That's what I'm thinking.  :(  He just finished his third round of antibiotics for an ear infection last week.  I'm thinking they didn't do the trick.

  • Maybe his ear? When DD had an ear infection, she said that her mouth hurt. It was pressure from the EI that was causing her mouth to her hurt.
