GD meds question

I expect that i am going to be put on meds on Friday since my fasting numbers just won't go down....

My question is....does anyone know how long you have to be on the meds post-pregnancy?  Are you off them before leaving the hospital?  does it depend on your sugars in the hospital post-delivery?

    I'm not sure about meds because I'm not on them.  I did ask my doctor yesterday when I could stop testing and he said as soon as I have the baby.  Hopefully it's the same for you!

    The placenta is producing the hormones that are causing the insulin resistance, so usually you are back to normal very soon after birth.  The nursing staff will keep tabs on your blood sugar while you are admitted.

    Most likely not at all after delivery...since it's your placenta causing the GD.

    I am on insulin and my endo just said once I go into labor only take half of my evening dose and nothing the next morning.
