Jogging Strollers: Which do you have and why do you love/hate it?

We were thinking about getting a phil & teds stroller b/c of the inline design and ability to push both kids (one behind the other) without having a super wide stroller to maneuver. Unfortunately, they are made in China (per their web site) so they are out of the running (we try to support countries that treat their works decently/humanely).

So now, we are looking at the BOB, but we know nothing about them.

We have a Mountain Buggy and love it!!! But, instead of shelling out another $700+ for a double stroller, then later maybe a triple, not to mention how heavy our single is already, we are looking at other brands.

Suggestions greatly appreciated! :)

  • A friend has a BOB and loves it. She puts three kids on her duallie. She does complain that it takes up all of her trunk space in their SUV... make sure you have a big enough trunk.  Also, when I was looking, it was the widest of the sbs doubles.

I really like baby jogger. Not sure where it's made though. They have a new one called the city select that can be changed into a number of positions. single and a multitude of double seat positions.  However, it's not a jogger.  Not sure about the tires or if it would be good for just walking "off road".

Are you a jogger?  if so, then go for a BOB or  Baby Jogger jogging strollers.  If you are just looking for something for walking outdoors a lot... then just look for air filled tires, not necessarily the large, swivel/lock ones.  I did jog a 5K with the P&T ... but that's not really the intention of the stroller. Not really supposed to jog with it.  I'm not sure the Mountain Buggy is intended for jogging either???  Another non jogging option is the Bumbleride IndieTwin.  Nice... It too has a bulky fold and would take up a lot of trunk space... it's wide but not as wide as the BOB (the difference was about an inch when I was looking) but it has a smooth ride.

I love my P&T, but if it was looking again, I'd look into the new Baby Jogger City Select.  I just walk with my two for the most part.

I had a single baby trend expedition jogger back when dd was an infant and it was wonderful.   but I test drove the doubles when ds was young and they are cheaply made now.  A friend has one a few years old and it's obvious that they've skimped on materials on the newer model. Older one is much sturdier. I'm pretty sure it is not made in the USA.

  • I have a BOB revolution and love it. You can push it with one finger, the seats are really roomy, there is ample storage. I actually use it as a full time stroller, not just for working out. Ig you do get it, do yourself a favor and order the cup holder. The only negative is when lifting it into a trunk or the back of a car, it's a little awkward.
