anyone have Graco Lauren cribs?

We went crib shopping last weekend, and have more-or-less settled on Graco Lauren cribs. I'm kinda feeling like we're short-changing our kids to not get a set of nice/expensive cribs, but realistically any money we can save is helpful right now.

If you have them, a few questions for you:

1. Are they sturdy? (The front railing on the store model seemed to have a little more "give" than I would like.)
2. What mattress did you get to fit them?
3. Did you get the changing table, and if so, do you like it?

BRU is taking $50 off if you buy the crib and changing table together this week, so we might go get them tomorrow night after work unless someone dissuades us...

yes, we have two of them in Espresso color.

1. Yes, they are sturdy. I like that they aren't too bulky too (our nursery is small and they don't take up too much space)

2. The Simmons Time Radiance mattresses fit them. They are at BRU and run, if I remember right, about $70 a piece. Not bad, IMO.

3. No, we don't have the matching changing table. We opted instead for the AmyCoe brand changer/dresser combo since I needed the storage space, not to mention it was on mad clearance at BRU and couldn't beat the price. Love it!

***FYI: Be careful about ordering the "right" Graco Lauren cribs!! We got one that was the classic/traditional style and one ended up being a drop-side (so two diff. models). After the Stork craft recall on drop-side cribs, i decided to return the dropside Lauren and got the matching traditional/classic style. I don't think that BRU even carries teh drop-side Graco Laurens anymore, but just in case....double check the style before ordering!!

Oooh, I love them!  No idea of the quality, but everywhere I looked they got great reviews.

FYI, in my googling it looks like it might be cheaper to order them through Wal-Mart even after the discount.  Do you have to buy 2 cribs and 2 changing tables to get 2 discounts? (Does that make sense?)  And don't forget to ask them for the multiples discount!

we have one. it's great! it's pretty sturdy, but the one i have is drop-side. i imagine the one you'd be getting wouldn't be.

your kids won't care if they're sleeping in a $100 crib or a $900 crib. so don't feel like you're "short-changing" them. 

we have the simmons beautyrest VII or something like that for all of our cribs.

I ordered 2 of them from Walmart last night. Site to store shipping is free and Walmart's price was $120 while Target was $160 and BRU $170.

We plan on getting these cribs - jsut so you know Baby Bargains rated the Graco Lauren crib very highly which made me feel better.

We have two and and the changing table in espresso and have been very happy with them. They look just as nice as expensive cribs IMO.

Yeah, the crib/changing table discount would only apply to a set (crib+changing table). I am hoping to stack that "coupon" with the multiples discount and a 30% off one item coupon we got in the mail yesterday (not sure yet if we can use that on one of the cribs-- I can't decipher the fine print). If I can triple up like that, BRU would end up being less expensive (especially since the $120 one at Wal-Mart is a drop-side, and we want fixed-side, which is closer in price to the BRU one). I think I'll work out the total price at Wal-Mart first so I know what we're trying to beat at BRU.

I'm not sold on the changing table, either. It has really high ends, and I always thought I'd want a changer where I can stand at their feet rather than at the side... not sure if I'm willing to sacrifice that flexibility for an inexpensive changer (but $29 isn't bad!).

BRU is so weird with their discounts.  If the first person says no, ask to talk to a manager.  Depending on other large purchases you might make at BRU, it could be a good time to apply for the credit card and use the 10% off total purchase coupon.  Are you going to register there?  I've been searching for a registry so I can start buying!
