Today is my first visit with my OB/GYN since finding out about the pregnancy. I'm a little nervous and I have no idea why?! What can I expect at this appointment? I'm 10 weeks tomorrow. I know every office is different but I'm looking for just a general idea....
Re: Question
Very similar to a regular visit, but without the pap. My OB did a questionnaire with me regarding my and dh's medical history. We then talked about what to expect as far as visits over the next few months, and she answered whatever questions I had. She then did a quick exam. And I was given a script for bloodwork. Since I hadn't eaten yet that morning, I went right to the lab and got it over with. I didn't go for an ultrasound for another couple weeks, but my friend had one at her first appointment (different practice).
We met with a L&D nurse first for about 40 minutes. She reviewed nutrition, hospital policies, testing, circumcision, and medical history for both DH and I among other things.
Then in the appt. I had an internal, pap, breast exam. Then I was sent for more blood work (I already had Betas). I imagine that I gave a urine sample too.
Since we had a loss a few months prior she also ordered an u/s and answered all of our questions. We were so nervous and excited at the same time.
Good luck today and let us know how it went.
