Breastfeeding

advice/question

I am going to be away from home and away from DD for two days this weekend (from earlier Saturday morning to late Sunday night).  This will be the first time away from DD for more than just one bottle.  Any advice on the easiest, most convenient way for my DH to give DD her bottle during the night?  I want this to hopefully be as smooth as possible for DH and DD so any advice would be appreciated.

Re: advice/question

  • I've always found that my DS does just fine when I've left him. I worry worry worry about it, but it always ends up okay! He used to take the bottle fine for others, including overnight. It was always worse for me b/c I would worry about it so much.

I don't have any advice in regards to the actual bottle giving. Hopefully others do.

Good luck!!!! And don't worry, she (and he!!) will be fine. =)

  • I guess I am unsure what you are asking? I don't think there are any tricks to giving a bottle. The only thing I can tell you is that when my dh first gave a bottle he was a little awkward with it but now he is like a pro. He snuggles our dd really close to him when he is feeding her and I think she really enjoys it
someecards.com - I support Newt Gingrich's idea of colonizing the moon if it'll help me get away from Newt Gingrich.

This. Has your LO already been taking a bottle? if its just a matter of your husband feeding him instead of you, then i dont think there are any tricks. I'm sure your LO will wake your husband up when he's hungry! I would just go over how to fill the bottle and warm the milk with your husband (if he doesnt already know) otherwise, your LO will let him know when its time to eat. Have your husband give your LO a bottle a few times between now and when you leave, just to make sure things go smoothly.
