Hello! I'm new here and only just started lurking but had a question. I was starting to look at these and figured I'd wait to see how BF went etc but MIL's friend's daughter (whom I've never met) has a Medulla Pump In Style Advanced that she bought in the fall and used for maybe a month and stopped BF. She said she'd sell it to me for $150 otherwise she was going to try craigslist or something. It retails for like $280. FIgured I'd need new tubing or what not but couldn't find pricing. What do you all think? Kind of the same as renting one from a hospital and gettin gnew tubing right?
Re: Breast Pump Q
Oh, I did see that my hospital uses these, so you're saying don't get the attachment peices until I go through them? Good idea. Not like I'll need itin advance anyways.
I doubt I'll need the level of the PISA but if I can get it at the same price as the mini-electric's I was looking at why not. Thanks so much!
I would say hold off. You could also take a first step in contacting the lactation nurse at the hospital you are delivering at. They can give you tons of info and are really happy when mothers want to breatfeed to the fullest.
I got my pump "free" ( insurance was charged under DME) because I had a breast reduction. I used the Medela Symphony while in the hospital and was given the In style Advance to take home. All the pieces are interchangeable. call your insurance and ask and then talk to the nurses when you deliver. They will try to help you out.
