Personal experience with care.com or sittercity.com?

Anyone have personal experience with either of these websites? Were you able to find an excellent babysitter or nanny through them? Did it meet your expectations? We're looking for a nanny and I may post our job on one of them but wasn't sure if one was better than the other. Thanks!

We actually just hired someone through sittercity.com. We had many, many responses to our ad and we picked out ones that we liked to come in for interviews. There are a lot of very young college type kids looking for jobs so you just have to weed out the ones that look good to you. So far so good with our nanny. We haver her on a trial basis right now so we could make sure that she is the right fit for us.

I recently used sittercity for the first time. I was pleased with it and met a lot of very good candidates. Be careful though, I didn't read the fine print and they auto-charged my credit card the 2nd month because I forgot to cancel my account after I deleted my post. I called them and they refunded it right away.

I had good sucess with sittercity a few months ago. We hired a nice girl who happens to live in our neighborhood. We got about 100 reply's to the add but it was a lot weeding to get the right people to interview. We are super happy with the service so far.

I have friends that used craigslist to find a nanny with sucess.

I had good success with care.com. Just make sure to carefully screen the candidates. You will get some who are recent high school grads or on summer break. Also, watch out for those who claim to be "nannies" that don't really understand the difference between a babysitter and a nanny. I recommend it though.
