poop stains!?

I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but everything she poops on stays stained. My two changing table pads both have poop stains on them and they just look dirty now. I tried spray & wash before washing, but it didn't make a difference. I am not too concerned about her ruined white onsies because they are under the clothes. I have even thrown out some outfits...grrr... anyone have a solution?

Re: poop stains!?

  • I have a pretty good system for poop stains.  I BF, so her poop is seedy and yellow.  When it gets goopy on her clothes, I shake them of in the toilet water and then I transfer them to the bathroom sink downstairs and let them SOAK in OXYCLEAN.  It works so well--I do not have any set in stains.  I'm sure you can use the oxy spray.  I'm going to try that once all of my oxy powder is gone.

  • The dreft stain pen seems to work pretty well...
  • I BF too... I have a bottle of Oxyclean spray fo babies, nothing has gotten permanently stained yet.

I also soak the worst offenders as soon as they are dirty so i can build a wash  for them.

  • I firmly believe that Oxyclean is one of a mom's best friends!  I use it all the time! :)

  • Great thanks! I need to get some oxyclean!! I BF too, so the stains are gross colored!

  • Also, for the diaper changing pad, I put a burp cloth on it under DD's bottom so if there are any "issues" all I have to worry about is the burp cloth.  And if I can't get that clean, I just throw it away b/c they are so cheap.  I've only had to get rid of 1 so far.

This. Most of the time I don't bother to pre-treat. I just pour a little OxyClean on and throw it into the wash on hot. Every.single.thing.comes.clean.every.time.

  • If the poo is from bm, you can sun the stains.  That's always the recommendation for cloth diapers and it works really well.  Dry your clothes (after washing with whatever you want) in the sun.  Just lay them over a  chair or something outside.  It actually even works on cloudy days.  Just google "sunning cloth diapers" and I'm sure you'll see other tips.  GL!
