Maybe this is a dumb question, but I'm not sure if I fell hard enough this morning to warrant a trip to L&D. My alarm went off (first day back at work after the holidays, and we're in a new apartment now, so) and I reached over DH to turn it off, then rolled back to my side... and missed by half a foot. Landed sprawled on the floor next to the bed, ironically on a pile of pillows that had fallen off the bed. DH has a fear of me falling (his little brother was born right after his mom had a bad fall) and he literally held onto me and wouldn't let me get out of bed for another 20 minutes like he was my own personal fetal monitor.
Nothing about it hurt, though, and I landed on my butt on pillows for goodness' sake. But I know that if you fall you should go in to be monitored. LO has since moved a little and I feel like I've sat down harder on normal chairs before. I also have an appt with my MW tomorrow and I know she'll check him then.
I can just wait, right? I didn't really want to spend 4-5 hours in L&D this morning just to have some nurses laugh at me (really, I fell on pillows! this doesn't feel like an emergency). What do you guys think?
Re: Does this count as falling? Should I go to L&D?
I wouldn't worry about it if it is on your butt, then again, I would call your dr./cnm to confirm.
My baby is two!!! Baby girl 9/17/09
My other baby is still a baby! Baby Boy 11-30-11
Can you call your MW easily? My SIL was told by her OB "Imagine an egg in side of one of those five gallon water coolers - if the fall wasn't hard enough to break the egg - then you are probably fine" She had fallen in the shower and skipped a trip to L&D.
