Okay so here we are day 8 in a NICU. I have successfully had my LO transferred to the NICU closer to my home, something I considered a major to do. Now I go and sit with him most of the day. He is now in a regular bassinet instead of a heated bed. Plus he has begun to put weight back on. Now if he will just start to feed correctly he can come home. I am really excited by the fact that the nurses said to bring in his car seat so they can do the car seat test, I think this is a good sign. I had him moved because of distance, but I have to say I like the new NICU much more and my LO seems to be handling it WAY better. The nurses fight for him to show what he can do, and they are so considerate of the parents. They encourage parents to be there for rounds and they love it when parents come in to tend to their babies them self's which since I can't have my LO at home I am happy to basically go live at the NICU with my LO.

Congratultions on the successful NICU move and on your LOs progress!  It really does make a huge difference to be in a positive environment that you are comfortable with.  I basically lived at the NICU 10 hours a day most days - I'm glad you're getting to spend a lot of time with you little one.

I'm glad everything is going so well!  He will learn to feed, it takes time, but once he figures it out he will be on full feeds in no time.
