Our sweet girls have arrived : )

Born 12/31/09 (37 weeks 6 days) at 1:42 and 1:47 am.  Mary Elise weighed in at 6 lbs. 4 oz. and Grace Katherine at 6 lbs. 13 oz.

Scheduled vaginal induction.  Arrived to hospital at 6:30 pm 12/30 and needed at least 4 hours of penicillin due to GBS.  Water was broken at 12:15 am on 12/31 and the girls were here 1 1/2 hours later!  Didn't even make it to the OR for all the precautions.  Was last checked at 5-6 cm and needed to push shortly after (just like DS 2).  Doctors and nurses rushed into the room just in time. Both girls came out face up but couldn't wait anyway : )

Everyone is doing wonderfully and we're already home.  Left the hospital at 3:30 today.  The girls are breastfeeding great... I'm sore from it but am hanging in there.  Otherwise I feel great physically.  Actually MUCH better in the perineal area than with my 2 boys (who were both 9 pounders).  Almost no pain at all there.  My nurse actually asked me "You do realize you just gave birth to 2 babies??" because the recovery went so well.

All in all a surprisingly uncomplicated and great experience : )
