You clean baby's vital stinky parts many times a day already when you change his diaper. A wipe down is better than a bath every day (doesn't dry baby's skin), but not really necessary.
We aimed to bathe LO once a week, but with all the diaper blow-outs and spit-up disasters, it's more like two-three times a week.
I do a bath every other day or every 3 days, but DD gets a wash up every day. I mainly focus on her face, neck, hands (b/c she keeps them in her mouth) and butt .
The first few weeks, we bathed him once a week. This week since he hit the 4 week mark, we up'd his baths to twice a week now. I do give him a wash down with a warm wet washcloth almost every morning. I wash his head, face, hands, neck. His butt and pee-pee area get washed with the diaper changes, so I only soap and water wash those in the baths. I have read in many places that daily baths aren't necessary at this stage, only when they start eating more solid foods and are moving around on the ground via crawling. This seems to work well for us. I also make sure after each feeding that his face and mouth area are cleaned up well from all the formula drooling. LOL
