it never fails when i' working on a holiday that someone says, "first of all, i'm so sorry you have to work." really? if you were that sorry you wouldn't be calling in.

That one, and "I bet you can't wait to get out of here and get home with your family."  That's right assholio.  If it wasn't for people like you we wouldn't need to be open today.

But that has changed since I have left retail pharmacy behind.

Hmmmm...I worked retail for a long time and actually kind of appreciated when people acknowledged that I was spending my holiday at work.  A lot of people treat retail/customer service employees like their own personal servants and don't bother to consider whether you have a life outside of serving them!

I hated "Workin' hard or hardly workin'?" with a flaming passion, though.

cubby, i suppose it could be a nice gesture but it gets old. perhaps that's just the cranky side of me.

since I work with DH and he is my "boss."  I get all kinds of "you should just sleep with your boss to get out of work."  UGH.
