Seabands makes a ginger gum that really hits the spot. I would think I was going to puke, pop in a piece of gum and the urge would pass. I found this at Walgreens. And back to lurking... (slow boards tonight)
I get it at my regular grocery store. It's either in the dried fruit aisle or in the produce section. It's got a very strong taste... so only take tiny bites until you get used to it. I eat it with dark chocolate and that helps with the nasty taste.
I found some crystallized ginger at TJ Maxx. I ate about 1/4 of a piece and gave the rest to DH. I HATE ginger, I'd rather deal with the m/s than want scrub my tongue with steel wool afterwards to get the AWFUL taste out of my mouth.
I've found that Ginger Altoids also work for me. They are kind of strong, especially considering they are Altoids, but they have worked well! You can't find them in many places. I believe that the ones I have now were from Rite Aid. GL finding what works for you!
Re: Ginger candy/ crystalized ginger?
You may still find it in your local grocery store since it's technically the "holiday" season. Whole Foods is a 100% safe bet, and here, at https://www.nutsonline.com/driedfruit/crystallized-ginger/.
Good luck!
