MIL drinking while watching LO

MIL asked DH for a glass of wine while she was watching LO at our house in the middle of the day.  WTF?  DH says that she is european so it is ok. (she was born in america, and lived here all her life)

I think its ok if it really is just ONE glass of wine but if u are not comfortable, can u just ask her not drink when she watches LO?

Um.... now i have the occasional cocktail here and there... but for them to justify it by saying she is European seems BS! 

I know my limits... but MIL's are different! ( mine cant hold her mouthwash more or less wine ) Your kid.... your rules honey!

 lay down the law!  if it bothers u that she drinks while taking care of ur LO... then u need to make that known for sure. Is she alone? What if something happens? Can she take care of the baby? Heaven forbid something happen that she needs to call the paramedics... and they smell booze on her breath.

Again... if u are uncomfortable... speak out!

This might sound judge-y, but if it's a glass of wine in the evening or with dinner it's one thing.  But in the middle of the day?  I would have an issue with that because to me that might mean she has a bit of a problem and might not stop at one.

As soon this my MIL gets home from work she walks in the front door an to the fridge grabs a beer an the rest of the night is spent drinkin.. We told her she could only watch DD if she is not drinking an she said she will never know the difference.. So guess what shes not watching DD!
