My GD baby is here!

My beautiful baby boy (we were team green and I was convinced it was a girl!) arrived on 12/9/09 via c-section.  My doctor ultimately decided that it would be safer to deliver via section because he was measuring almost 10lbs at my 40 week appointment and I had no progress.  It wasn't the natural birth that I hoped for but in the end I had everything that was important.  Since my sugars were under control they think he was just a genetically big baby - big babies run in my family. 

Ryan Joseph was born at 9lbs, 8ozs.  His sugars were perfect and mine have been perfect too.  And the upside to GD?  I'm down almost 20lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight!  I had some extra weight to begin with and I only gained 11lbs during my pregnancy.  At my appointment on Tuesday I've lost almost 30lbs since the day I delivered.  I've actually been still kind of following the diet - it's hard not to count carbs after being so strict for months!

Wow, that's awesome!  Congrats!  I hope I drop 30 lbs afte rmy baby comes...that would be fantastic.  I've only gained 12 thus far, but like you, had some to lose before my BFP.  I also plan to stick to the GD diet after the baby is born...it just makes a lot of sense.
