TTC After a Loss

What would you do?

I had a friend ask me to start taking kick boxing classes with her on Monday.  I want to do it, but I'm worried that it wouldn't be good because of ttc.  I will be having an IUI in the next few days and I'm concerned that kick boxing could be harmful if I get pg.  Would you take the class or opt for more low impact exercise?

Re: What would you do?

  • How long would the class last?

  • I probably would not do it. But I am also crazy. I had my mc the day after I decided to start working out, so I blame myself and my working out

  • I would take it, usually those classes are with a heavy bag and no issues. Unless big burly men are going to be kicking you in the ute, then I'd say no.

  • The class is 45 minutes a session and it would be for 8 weeks.  I'm just scared to do anything that may harm a baby or cause another m/c.

  • As long as you won't have anyone punching your abdomen I would think it should be ok.  I took a kick boxing glass once and we just did the moves, and at the last glass punched mits the instructor was wearing.  It was fun!  And there's no problem with exercising while pregnant but you can always check with your Dr to be sure!

  • I don't really see like it would be too much of a problem.  But, if is bothering you, I wouldn't do it.  You don't want any of the extra stress of worry about the 'what ifs'!

  • I probably wouldn't worry about it.  But, if you are worried, then maybe ask your doctor if you should be concerned?

  • I would probably check with your doctor or maybe the class instructor to see if they recommend it if you are pregnant.  I would think it's too high impact, but I never took it so I'm probably not the best person to answer this.

  • Thanks for all your thoughts ladies.  I think I'm going to skip the class and offer to be my friends workout partner and stick to more low impact exercise.  I just don't want to ever have to second guess something I did.  I am already considered high risk so I'm thinking its just not worth it.

  • I personally wouldn't.  But, I'm also obsessive and I know that once I get KU I will be taking it SO easy
