You will LOVE that! We got a hand-me-down Kelty Elite pack like that one, and we have used it a gazillion times. Not just for hiking, but i use it while hanging laundry on the line because the sunshade is so great (and i find it cooler to wear when it is hot out). I use it at the farmer's market, while doing yard work, etc. We have done lots of day hikes and a backpacking trip with it too (i strapped stuff on the frame under baby.)
