East of Eden is my all time favorite

Love Barbara Kingsolver - I haven't read her new one, though

Love Tom Perotta, especially Little Children and Election

I am a teacher so I also love chapter books that are by children's authors:

Roald Dahl is a great author: (Matilda, James and Giant Peach, Witches, Fantastic Mr. Fox, BFG, Charlie and Chocolate Factory, etc

Pippi Longstocking (the chapter books are so good)

Alice In Wonderland and the original Winnie the Pooh are great reads.
