Anyone recently deliver at St. E South?

Sorry to be a PW lately, but we're getting down to the wire.

What does St. E provide? I am starting to make a checklist of what we need to have in the hospital bag, and don't want to overpack if St. E provides something.

I know they will provide the ginormous pads and a sitz bath if I need one. But just wanting to get an idea of what to expect.

Thanks again!!

  • When I delivered there 18 months ago, they gave me pads, mesh panties, sitz bath, spray bottle, all the pain aid stuff--dermoplast, witch hazel pads etc, diapers, (bring wipes), hats, shirts for her, blankets, really most everything you need. I took way too much. All I needed was my personal items like shampoo, deo, contact stuff, a robe, comfy pants, socks etc.

Next time I'm taking my own toilet paper. :-)

  • As far as items they send you home with, you'll get a pair or two of the ever-so-attractive mesh granny panties, tucks pads, some crotch numbing spray (sorry...forget the technical name for it LOL) and hydrocortisone cream.  For the hospital, I just needed my toiletries, a nursing bra and a change of clothes for coming home.  They provide towels and wash cloths for your shower.  You may want to bring a comfy robe, blanket and your own pillow - theirs are kinda crappy.  I'd also pack wipes for the baby since they only give you the dry napkins to wet with water, which IMO, do nothing when it comes to cleaning off the first poopy bottom!

  • I start clinicals there next week. :)
  • I would definitely bring your own pillow with a fun pillowcase to make sure it doesn't get lost with the other laundry.  I packed way more than I would have needed for a normal stay, but in the end it worked out since Carter had to stay an extra day.  If you are BFing I would bring a nursing top or nursing bra.  I also brought my pump and left it in the car.  I ended up needing it because Carter was jaundice and had to stay in the NICU so I pumped.
