TTC After a Loss

Here's what weirds me out about the OSB

(For those who don't know...OSB is the One Star Bandit / One Star B*tch...s/he constantly one-stars heartbreaking posts on mc/pl)

It freaks me out that this person INSTANTANEOUSLY one-stars posts. It's like they're stalking mc/pl all.the.time. Sometimes I'll see a post pop up, I'll click it to read it, and by the time I'm reading the post, it's ALREADY one-starred. W....T.....F????

My theory is that it's NOT some random 60 yo man in their underwear in their mom's basement.....I think it's some b*tch on this site (like fishnchips or something) who got FLAMED for posting something dumb on mc/pl (like "hey, my neighbor had a m/c last month, should I show her my U/S pic???") and is pissed/bitter about the flaming.

It's weird, though, because they've been doing it for a while....they must be REAL bitter/angry....freaks me out though that they do it so quick. It's like they LIVE in a miscarriage board just to harass us....WHO DOES THAT.

/end vent.

  • It isn't just here that it happens.  Parenting has OSB's, also.  My posts almost always get 1-starred, along with many other posters.  It's annoying at best.

  • It happens here as well, not just MC/PL. The OSB seems to target specific people, not just posts.

Whoever she is, she needs to get a fugging life.

  • Im sure its more than one person.  Im sure each board has atleast one person who does it.  I've one starred peoples posts before.  If its really effin stupid, or offensive.  Does it matter?  No.  Is it really outragous that people do it on mc/pl?  Yes.  Otherwise, I dont think the star thing matters.  Maybe someone thinks you auto 1star sad posts.  Would you rather a m/c post got 5 stars?

  • I agree with Emma - most likely more than one effed up person.  I think we should do our best to ignore them, if at all possible.  Maybe the Bump gods should get rid of the starring system - what's the point?

I agree.  However, I do get annoyed, too, when I open someone's heartfelt, gut-wretchingly sad post and immediately see that someone gave it one star. I don't notice it 99% of the time, but when I do catch a OSB rating, I always give it 5.  I just wouldn't want OP to think we thought their post was bad, or whatever.

Honestly, the Bump should just remove it. We can tell what posts are "popular" based on how many looks/replies it got.
