I had no idea photoshop was so darn expensive!

  • I pay $25 a year for the "premium" version of Picnik (www.picnik.com)

It was highly rated by CNET.com (which I trust)

It has all the basic shizz I need (shine fixer, blemish fixer, airbrush, etc.)

I have used and loved the free version of Picnik... I guess I didn't realize it's only $25/yr for premium.  Is there a big difference between the 2?

  • www.gimp.org is essentially the free version of Photoshop.  It it is set up the same way.  Apparently, there are some limitations, but I have yet to run into them.

I was going to say the same.  when I was on hospital bed rest I didn't have PS on my laptop, so that's what I used to make my announcments and everything.  LOVE it.

  • If you know anything about torrents you can find a full version (cracked) of Adobe Creative Suite - which includes photoshop, dreamweaver, etc etc. Otherwise the other suggestions given are a great idea.

  • I use Gimp...it's okay. I am so used to Photoshop that Gimp kind of annoys me at times cause i can't figure out how to do somethings. I am slowly getting used to it. I find I have printing problems with Gimp too. DH won't download a pirated copy of photoshop anymore because i guess they are getting better at detected pirated copies...

  • I think I have a few old versions of Photoshop lying around, if I can find the disks I can send them your way.

I think there is still a free trial online of Lightroom, but I'm not sure.  Also, if you want to buy something Photoshop Elements is pretty decent from what I've heard.
