Short and thin girls...I have a question for you?

Hey ladies,

Just curious when you started showing?  I know everyone is different, but wasn't sure if being short and thin would cause me to show quicker or later.  Thanks so much!

Re: Short and thin girls...I have a question for you?

  • I have started to bet a bump within the last week. I finally had to get a pair of maternity jeans (btw, they make NOTHING for short skinny girls). Most people wouldn't notice my bump, but is totally noticeable to people that see me everyday.

  • I am 5'1 and petite and I started showing around 17 weeks.
  • I'm pretty short 5'2 and small and I didn't really "show" until 20 wks, even with my second.  I had a bump before that but it could be easily hidden and if you didn't know me well you would have thought I just put on a few lbs.  I think being short did make me get "bigger" than my taller friends though.
  • i'm 5'1" and weigh about 105 prepg.  i was showing early with dd (my first).  even though my weight was under the 'guidelines' due to ms, i had a huge baby belly by 16-17 wks but started outgrowing my clothes by 13wks.  i always measured ahead by a few wks with dd too (meaning my belly was big-not the baby).

don't even get me started on #2.  same song and dance (big belly, not alot of weight) but worse!  at 23wks i measured 28 wks!!  so not cute!

that being said, my good friend is about my size and didn't show any earlier than most women.  so, maybe it's just my uterus :)

  • This is my second baby and I cannot for the life of me remember at what point I started showing with my first because well that was 10 years ago LOL but I know it was pretty early. But with this one it was noticeable to me around 8 weeks and I had coworkers approaching me by 10 weeks. Strangers commented around 13 weeks. I'm 4'11 and was 95lbs pre-pregnancy.

  • I am 5'2 and although I am having twins, I became noticeably pregnant at 14 weeks. I

  • Thanks so much for your help ladies! I'm just a planner and was figuring out the clothing situation. Smile

  • Everyone pops diffrently so being small doesnt necessarily make a diffrence.  I am five foot and was 105lbs pre pregnancy & I started really showing this last week but I had a bloat that came and went around 13w
  • With my first, strangers didn't notice until 18/19 weeks.  With this pregnancy, I got my first stranger comment at NINE weeks.  (And I am short and thin).
  • just finally started getting a tiny bump- and its the 16th week. i think im the only one the can see it so far
  • I am shorter (5'4") & was thin pre-pg.  I used a bella band by 8 wks & was in maternity pants by 13.  Now it's super obvious.  For me I think it's mostly b/c I'm short waisted & b/c I cut way back w/ working out due to serious 24/7 m/s from wks 5-15.

    DD1 born 5/24/10.

    Missed M/C at 14 wks Feb 2012.

    DD2 born 5/14/13.

    Missed M/C at 9 wks July 2015.

    Expecting someone new 4/17/17.
  • Hey. Well this is my first pregnancy and I had to start unbuttoning jeans for comfort around 8 weeks. I am 12 weeks now and have to wear maternity pants. My fam started noticing a bump around 9-10 weeks. It is diff for everyone though, bc my best friend is also preggers. She is 13 weeks and she is really really showing. She is 4' 11" and 95 lbs prepregnancy. I am 5' 3" and 127 before pregnancy. You'll notice a bump before anybody else will. Big Smile
  • I'm not really short (5'5"), but I weighed 110 lbs pre-pregnancy.

I was in maternity clothes at about 11 weeks.

Right now I am definitely showing.

I've only gained 1 lb, but I look pregnant.

I've been working out 6 days a week for about 90 minutes a day.  Even with my bad m/s (started at week 4 and still going strong} working out is the only thing that makes me feel better other than Zofran.
