Doc won't let me move up my big U/S

So I'm scheduled for my big u/s at 18w6d, which will be a Friday (the only time DH and I can both go to an appt is Fridays).  My doctor is getting an ultrasound machine in the office on January 4, so all the u/s appointments are wide open pretty much all month.  I called today to see if I could move it up a week to the Friday before my scheduled appt (I'd be 17w6d) and the secretary told me they won't do a big u/s before 18 weeks, even if it's just ONE DAY early!  I'm so bummed... I can't wait to have my big u/s and I was really hoping to knock a week off the wait time!

It sucks waiting. I was so eager too. They didn't want to do ours any earlier than 18 weeks either. Its harder to get a definite I guess. Not too much longer! It will be worth the wait

Ours was supposed to be today, but we're not in town so we had to schedule it for next Tuesday.  It's killing me and I can't wait!!

We have the same due date and I won't have my big US until I'm a day away from 21 weeks.  That's an eternity!!

The waiting is always the hardest part. Even one day early some offices really won't do it before 18w. We had ours at 18w6d and the waiting nearly killed me.

At least yours will do it at 18 weeks!  My doc wouldn't let us schedule it before 19!  It will go fast don't worry!

The technicians at my doctor's office won't do it a day before 20 weeks!  It was hard to wait, but I know it's important that they are able to get all the measurements they need.

My OB's office will not do it before the 18th.

I know the wait is hard, but it's sooo worth it

Pretty normal not to let you move it up.  My dr won't do it before 19 wks.  She said it's b/c they want to make sure baby has time to develop enough & then they get all measurements, etc.
