2nd Trimester

I just left a really b!tchy response to a FB status

It's an 18 year old boy whining about people talking about how their kid is 15 months and not just saying 1 or 2.  And I wrote....

"b/c a kid who is one and a month is a whole lot different from a kid who is one and 10 months. Most people only do the month thing until they get to about 2. But, to appease you non-parents I usually round to .5 because I know how difficult math in your head is ;-)"

  • This reminded me. We went over some friends house today for a lunch gtg and the husband asked me how far along I was. Without thinking, I said, "22 weeks". He says, "okay, well how far is that in months"...lol. I had to stop and think. :-)

  • Ha! That's funny. I guess you don't get it until you experience it. Never thought I would be answering in weeks when someone asks me how far along I am.

Thats funny people always ask what month I'm in. I just say I prefer to go by weeks lol.

When people ask me to convert I just tell them how many months I have remaining and that I count in weeks, becuase its weird how it works.  Like, you're 20 weeks which technically is only 4 months...but yet you're half way there but technically have 5 months to go... etc.. it confuses the crap out of me since they say you're technically pg for 9.5 months or something

This! Its hard for me to do the math on the spot. And forget trying to explain "I'm 6 months, but IN my seventh month..." and how that relates to weeks.

Whenever people ask me what "well how many months is that?" I just say "Uh, divide by four" and look at them they THEY are the dumb ones. Hahahaha.

"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind." - Kurt Vonnegut
  • it's all good....I told him I loved him and then it turned into a discussion about this other girl naming her kid Julian Alexander, and I said we were considering both of those names...then he asked me what other names...and yeah, now it's an entire discussion on his status which is kind of silly, lol.  Mah buddies know I'm ornery!  Wink

  • I actually really dislike when people do this too. When they are over 11 months it's time to start counting years...

I agree with this when talking to "non parents" people just don't get it until they have kids themselves.
  • I left one on fb yesterday too. My hateful aunt commented that my anniversary post was sappy so I posted the link to the definition of harpy for her. I figured at least it was nicer than bitter or resentful.
