Reading the Target vs. Amazon.com return policies - I'd recommend trying to find what you're looking for at Target - I found most of my bigger ticket items...(travel system, pack-n-play - going with Chicco for both) - some were 10% more expensive - but, if I happen to get doubles (i.e. someone sees it and buys it somewhere else and I also get it from the registry itself...) I'd rather have the credit at Target!
On Amazon you have to pay for shipping (at least from what I gathered) and often to return - for Target you can return to the store...
Can anyone contradict me or agree? I didn't register at either place for my wedding registry - I had some nightmares with returning items at some of the places where I did register!
Re: FYI - online registery
Even if it's on your registry?
Yep. My friend works there, she told me not to register there with my first. Maybe it's only some of the stores that are doing this but she said that even if it's on your registry they'll return it but they'll only give you credit for the lowest price it's been within the last year, and then you can only get something else in the baby section (which if you need baby stuff isn't THAT big a deal). They'll also tag your Driver's Liscence and you can only make 3 returns w/ in a 6 month period.
I was at Target the other day and someone was returning something off of their registry w/o the receipt. They were given lowest price, and the woman said that it's up to $75 (in a year, I think). Basically-- have whomever is throwing your shower to emphasize gift receipts!!
Target also takes down your drivers license for any return without a receipt so if you do more than like 2 a year they blacklist you. It's pretty insane. And yes I heard even if it's from your registry.
