If you've had to deal with this with your LO...

Can you recommend your shampoo?

TIA

  • Head & Shoulders.  Cleaned it up within a week.

  • Eeek, H&S on a baby? I guess if you can avoid getting in their eyes. I would be scared to try.

I just left it alone and combed their hair frequently to get it out a bit. It does go away with time.

  • I massaged a bunch of baby oil into his scalp, waited 15 mins then brushed his head with his little soft brush in circular motions. It pretty much took it away right away, we did it again the next day or the day after that and he never had it again.

This is what our pedi suggested.  I did it and it went away in a few days.

  • My pedi recommended selson blue (obviously avoiding the eyes). I have also used a cradle cap shampoo that is sold in walmart (green bottle with winnie the poo characters) and I think that worked the best.

Also, not washing the hair every night helps.

  • Paul Mitchell Baby no Tears (or could be Baby no Cry) works awesome!!!! and smells great. Not too expensive, around $8 at a salon

I know, that's what I thought too.  Our pedi recommended that or Selsun Blue (?).  You should see me during bath time - I'm so careful to avoid his eyes.  It did help clear it all up though!

  • baby oil, massage with soft brush, then aveno shampoo. twice a week it's H&S (pedi recommended). i do wash her hair everyday. some mom were recommended not to wash everyday. i guess it depends who you ask.

The shampoo is called Gentle Care and you can get it at walgreens too.  I actually accidently picked up the eczema kind and it worked like a dream.  we also dont wash his hair as often.

I tried the baby oil thing and it didnt help much and took a week to wash out!

  • Honestly, just time worked the best. I did try using olive oil and a toothbrush at the rec. of our pedi, and I used Mustela Cradle Cap Shampoo, but it kept coming back. Now he still has a little bit but it's almost gone.
